Marlene Louise Farr Thurell Marlene Louise Farr Thurell, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2012. She was born on March 7, 1933 to Harold Parry and Nellie Louise Jay Farr. On September 2, 1954, she married the love of her life and best friend, James Edwin Thurell in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 3, 1968. They were blessed with three sons. She was a great support to her husband as they traveled extensively state side and overseas while he served in the Air Force. Marlene was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held various callings. Her favorite was serving in the Primary. She worked at H.A.F.B, as a telephone operator at McKay Dee Hospital, and was a homemaker. She loved crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, and collecting cartoons. Marlene had a great attitude about life and loved to laugh. Marlene is survived by her husband, James Edwin, Washington Terrace; and three sons, Mark James Thurell, Avondale, Arizona; Christian Parry (Jana) Thurell, Ogden; and Douglas Michael (Rona) Thurell, Corona, California; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Shirley) Farr, Sandy; and sister, Joyce (Vic) Durbano, Roy. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 13th Ward, 4800 South 300 West. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquists Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd, and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquists Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. A special thanks to everyone at Hearts for Hospice for their loving care of mom, especially the wonderful CNAs and our nurses Cage and Erica. They are Angels!
