Lee married Thelma Cooke, and had a son, Miles Farr. Subsequently Lee married twice, to Susan Thomas, and most recently to Amy Farr.

Lee developed passionate interests, first in horses as a young man, then oriental rugs, opening an antique carpet business at his historic home in Portland, Oregon, and finally photography and Mongolian antiquities.

After leaving the business and Portland, Lee learned Chinese and taught English at Taiwan University in Taipei for many years.

Survivors include: son, Miles; Lee's three brothers, William, Jan, and Kim; as well as three grandchildren of Tammy and Miles: Amanda, Clayton, and Jordan.

Lee Farr was cremated and was buried in a private memorial at Maryhill, Washington.

The following is from a history that Silas' grandaughter, Betsey Farr Ingraham, wrote in 1863 about the history of Tully, New York:
He (grandfather Farr) had a cane that was passed on to his oldest surviving son, Warren. the tradition is that the cane was brought from England by one of the Pilgrim fathers and descended through several generations by the oldest son. After grandfather died and my oldest brother had left home and we knew nothing of him at the time, and my second brother was dead, my brother Warren took possession of the cane; and several years afterwards when he went to Batavia in Genesee county at the land office some thief stole it.
