—Alonzo J. Farr, a life long resident of this town died at his home west of the village at an early hour this morning. He had been confined there since last Thursday. There are some painful peculiarities surrounding his last sickness. Lon. grew quite ... a little cranky toward the last, and made it very un-pleasant for all about him. His death was from inflammation of the bowels. His age must have somewhere near 70 years.

J. W. Farr, who had lived in and around the village for about 27 years, died Tuesday morning at the Arlington, where his home had been for several years. He had been in failing health for some time—in fact, someone has had to stay with him for the past two months, so his death was not unexpected. He has one daughter living in the west, and three grandchildren, Ralph and Burt Craft and Mrs. Lione Greenfield of Oklahoma. So far as is known, he is the last of his father's family. Last Sunday the 12th, he celebrated his 81st birthday and until his health failed a few months ago was able to do a man's work. He was a man who always, under all circumstances, lived up to his convictions of right and wrong—and was a loyal friend, as we can testify because of a close association with him for several years, and was a bitter enemy. Funeral services were held from the Arlington Wednesday forenoon conducted by the I.O.O.F. and Rebekahs and the body was laid to rest in the North Loup Cemetery."
