REDMOND, FLOYD L. "PORKY"- Aged 91, of Michigan Center, passed away at Allegiance Health June 6, 2009. He is survived by; his son, Gary (Marcella) Redmond; son-in-law, Daniel Hunt; four grandchildren, Dawn (John) Nelson, Tamra (Todd) Weaver, Brent Redmond and Van (Peg) Hunt; and ten grandchildren, Emily, Mellissa and Jesse Nelson, Kara, Courtney and Kaitlyn Weaver, Zachariah Redmond, Brittany Copley, Hailey and Gracie Hunt. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Ardella in 1998; his daughter, Nannette Hunt in 2009; his great-granddaughter, Nicole Redmond in 1996; one sister and four brothers. He was the last surviving member of the Michigan Center High School Class of 1936, an Army Veteran of World War II, retired after 30 years service at Wyman-Gordon, then worked another 12 years at Standard Tool and was an avid and talented golfer, most recently on the Railroad League at Ella Sharp Park Golf Course. Services will be held at the funeral home Thursday 11 a.m. with Pastor Robert L. Freysinger officiating. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside Military Honors will be offered by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team.
