Our loving mother, Genevieve Farr Taylor, returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on Friday, November 28, 2003 in Ogden, Utah. 

Mom was born August 18, 1920 in Ogden, Utah to Thomas Bramley and Annie Powell McKay Farr. She grew up in Smithfield, Utah attending Cache Valley schools. She fondly remembered her summers spent in Huntsville with her Grandmother McKay. She attended Utah State University and was a sister in Beta Delta Kappa Sorority. While attending college she met her husband, Ivan C. Taylor. 

They were married October 2, 1940 in the Salt Lake City Temple by her uncle, David O. McKay. Through this marriage they welcomed seven children, fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-granchildren. Genevieve and Ivan later divorced. 

Nana's life was devoted to her family and church, and we that are left behind are the benefactors of her unselfish love. 

She faithfully served in the Primary, Mutual, Relief Society and Sunday school of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her love of the gospel was great. She was a Captain in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and through this association developed many lasting friendships. 

Genevieve is survived by her children, Annette (Nolan) Adams, West Jordan; James (Delpha) Taylor, Hazelton, ID; Cathie (Paul) Richardson, North Ogden; Ivan, Jr. (Laurie) Taylor, Eden; Barbara Taylor, Denver, CO; Julie Rainey, Ogden; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Tom and brother, Bramley. 

The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff at Crestwood Care Center and Applegate Hospice for their care and thoughtfulness. 

Mom, you were an inspiration to all who knew and loved you. We miss you.

Uriah Lester Farr was born in Alanthus Grove, Gentry Co., Mo. He was one of 13 children born to Nathan Logan and Nancy Ann Stierwalt Farr. The family moved from Morgan Co., Indiana, to Missouri, and then to the Emporia, Lyon Co., Kansas Area. His parents are buried in Emporia, Kansas.

Lester Farr married Feb 7, 1917, Livingston Co., MO, Arminda Margaret Jones, daughter of Ransom Earl and Eliza Jane Mawhor Jones. He worked for the railroad and was a farmer. He lived near Chula, Mo., and Sumner, Mo., and Chillicothe in Livingston Co., MO. 

His first wife was Alma Warren and they had 3 children, Dolly Farr Bloss, Margaret Farr Grubbs, and Carrie Farr Bloss. By his second wife, Minnie, he had Nina Marie Farr, born & died 1918, Doris Avis Farr Linscott, Elfreeda June Farr Payton, Mary Francis Farr Gibson Kilburn, Minnie Monzelle Farr Frakes, and Wayne Lester Farr. 

Lester was a musician who could play the fiddle and played for dances and for the entertainment of his family and friends. He farmed and raised livestock. He was a strict father (had to protect his daughters). He was a wonderful grandpa to his grandchildren. He loved family reunions with all his children and grandchildren there. He had 16 grandchildren by his 2nd wife and at least 19 by his first wife. He was a religious man and a strong Southern Baptist. He lived to be 79 and is sadly missed by all who knew him. We will never forget him.

Lester Farr Dies in Front of Post office

Funeral Services Will Be Easter Sunday Afternoon.

Lester Farr, 78, died unexpectedly at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon in his car, parked in front of thepost office. Mrs. Farr was with her husband when he was stricken. He had been in failing health three years and seriously ill for a year.

Mr. Farr was born at Alanthus Grove Mo., on April 29, 1884, a son of Nathan Farr and Nancy Ann (Stierwalt) Farr.
He moved to Kansas with his parents when a small child. He attended rural school at Madison, Kansas, returning to Livingston County in 1916 and residing on a farm near Chula. For the last nine years he had made his home in Chillicothe, at 223 Herriman street.

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

On Feb. 7, 1917, Mr. Farr married Minnie Jones, at Chillicothe.

Survivors are the wife; seven daughters, Mrs. Grover (Doris) Linscott, Chillicothe; Mrs. George (Elfreeda) Payton, Desoto, Kansas.; Mrs. Carl (Frances) Kilburn, Chillicothe; Mrs. Alexander (Frakes)Monzelle, Hale; Mrs. Carrie Bloss, Brookfield; Mrs. Margaret Thompson, Cameron and Mrs. Dolly Bloss, Hiawatha, Kan.; a son, Wayne Lester Farr, Columbia; 30 grandchildren and 38-great-grandchildren.

His parents, an infant Nina Marie Farr,  six brothers and five sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the chapel of the Norman Funeral Home. The Rev. Orville Grace will conduct the services.

Burial will be in Wheeling Cemetery.

Arminda Margaret "Minnie" JONES [scrapbook] was born 1 on 22 Feb 1898 in Riverton, Fremont, Iowa, United States. She died 2 on 1 Nov 1994 in Chillicothe, Livingston, Missouri, United States. Minnie married Uriah Lester FARR on 7 Feb 1917 in Livingston, Missouri, United States.

Minnie Farr (as she was known) was a daughter of Ransom Earl and Eliza Jane Mawhor Jones. She was a good Christian woman who never shirked her duty as a parent and a grandparent. We always enjoyed being in her company and going on vacations and shopping trips with her. She lived a good long life and is sadly missed by her children and grandchildren.

He was married to Alma E. Warren on February 15, 1917. Three daughters were born to this union: Mrs. Eunice Engenhousz, Rialto, Cal., Mrs. Georgia Kimbell, Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Mable Pace, Brookfield, Mo. He had 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.

Burial was made in the Belleville cemetery.

CURTIS GROVER LINSCOTT was born April 11, 1912, in Brooks, Kansas, the son of Wyatt and Ivy Linscott. Grover passed away Friday, August 2, 1991, at Lafayette Regional Health Center In Lexington, MO. He was 79 years old. He was a member of the Kirksville Christian Church and a member of the A.A.R.P. in Wellington, MO. He was retired from Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. He worked in the parts department for 29 years retiring in 1974.

On February 10, 1937, Grover was united in marriage to Doris Avis Farr of Bedford, MO. To this union were born two sons and one daughter. Grover is survived by his wife, Doris of the home; two sons, Chester LeRoy "Scotty" of Shawnee, Kansas; William Frank "Bill", of Odessa, Missouri; one daughter Nina Louise Griffin of Chillicothe, MO. Grover is also survived by his mother, Ivy Linscott Henderson of Odessa, MO; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Grover was proceeded in death by his father and one child in infancy.

It was the family's desire that the funeral services for Grover be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, at the Snow Chapel, with the Reverend Mark Friz officiating. Musical selections given by Mrs. Carol Hough, organist.

Interment in the Lakeside Cemetery in Sumner, Missouri. 

Pallbearers: Dustin McEwen, Pete LaBella, Jim Potter, Bob Owen, Bernie Fairchild and Donald Beissenherz.

Doris Avis FARR [Parents] [scrapbook] was born 1 on 19 Oct 1919 in Bedford, Livingston, Missouri, United States. She died 2 on 30 Jun 2007 in Chillicothe, Livingston, Missouri, United States. Doris married 3 Grover Curtis LINSCOTT on 10 Feb 1937 in Bedford, Livingston, Missouri, United States.

Doris Avis (Farr) Linscott, age 87, of Chillicothe left this world on Saturday, June 30, 2007, to be with the Lord Jesus Christ.

She was born on October 30, 1919 in Bedford, Mo., the daughter of Lester and Minnie (Jones) Farr. On Feb. 10, 1937, she was married to Grover Curtis Linscott at Linneus. He preceded her in death August 2,1991.

Doris had resided in Chillicothe since 1991, moving from Wellington. She had spent most of her life prior to 1950 to the Bedford, and Sumner areas. She lived in and around Chillicothe at various times during her life. She once lived in Dawn, Missouri. She attended Soul's Harbor Church of God and was an RSVP volunteer in Chillicothe.

She is survived by her daughter, Nina Griffin, son-in-law Jerry Griffin; two daughters-in-law, Dawn Linscott and Sharon Linscott; sister, Elfreeda Payton of De Soto, Kansas; brother Wayne Farr of Marshall; several nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Grover Curtis Linscott; infant son, Grover Curtis Linscott Jr.; two sons, Chester Leroy "Scotty" Linscott and William Frank "Billy" Linscott; six sisters, Minnie Monzelle Frakes, Nina Marie Farr, Mary Frances Kilburn, Margaret Grubbs Thompson, Carrie Bloss and Dolly Bloss.

Funeral services were held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at 10 a.m.
