Obituary 

Millard Fillmore

The express sincerely regrets to announce the death of Mr. Millard Fillmore, which occurred at noon Friday at his residence 410 North Seventh Street. The cause of death was heart disease, although as is well known he has been in feeble health for several months. His serious illness dates from January last
Mr. Fillmore was born April 184 in Jefferson County New York When he was a year old he removed with his family to Jefferson County Wisconsin. At the age of 18 years he enlisted in Co E sixteenth Wisconsin Infantry. Volunteers and served throughout the war with honor & credit. He came to Nebraska in 1871, locating in Beatrice, where he has since resided, except one period of nine months, when he made his home in Blue Springs. In recent years he has been engaged in the dray and freighting business, and was widely and popularly known as a man of the highest integrity and industrious in all that the term implies. His death will be widely lamented
His beloved wife and two daughters survive him.
The express joins the entire community in extending to the bereaved family its sincerest sympathies. 
The funeral services took place from the family residence, 410 North Seventh Street at 2:30 p.m. Sunday July 8 Rev. J.D. Dabney conducted the services.

Mrs. Lucia A Fillmore died at 7:45 Thursday evening at her home 401 North Seventh Street, after a prolonged illness. the deceased was 44 years of Age and was the widow of the late Millard Fillmore. She has been a resident of Beatrice since 1870, and was a lady widely known and esteemed for her many noble qualities

She leaves two daughters Mrs. Emma Curtis Phillips of Milford, Wis. and Miss Viola of this city. A brother of the deceased, Mr. Edward Farr resides at Blair, this state, and has been notified of her death and will reach here today
The funeral took place from the family home. 410 North Seventh Street at 2:30 Saturday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. J.D. Dabney Interment was made in the old Cemetery.
