Theron H. Farr, 78, Bradenton, died Jan. 10, 1999.

He was born June 4, 1920, in Randolph, Vt., and came to Manatee County 26 years ago from Burlington, Vt. He was a retired sheet metal contractor and a World War II veteran of the Army Air Forces.

Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Hamilton of Farmington, Conn.; a sister, Bernice Race of Randolph; and three grandchildren.

Memorial services will be private. National Cremation Society is in charge.

Married Bernice "Bunny" Farr Aug. 19, 1946, in Burlington. She died in 1999.

Owned and operated Race's Store in East Randolph for 25 years until 1972. His father started the store in the 1930's. Later he owned Race's Milk Transfer for 13 years and Race's Bus Service for five years. He also was a school bus driver and supervisor for 35 years. 

He was very active in the community, including becoming the first chief of the East Randolph Fire Department. He was a member of the Randolph Select Board, the recreation committee, budget committee, was a justice of the peace, was an Orange County deputy sheriff and was an assistant deputy game warden for the Vermont Fish & Game Departmen and the Brookfield Mystic Star-Phoenix Lodge 97 F&AM.

His interests included hunting, fishing and the Randolph Farmers Market.

Survived his sons and their wives; 3 grandchildren; and his great-grandchildren

Predeceased by his brother Bernard Race.

Mrs. Susie A. Farr, wife of J.D Farr, a milkman residing at Huntingtonville, died suddenly at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the dental office, aged 36 years. Mrs Farr had been troubled with hetrt disease for several years and at the time of her death was having an impression taken for some false teeth, natural teeth having been extracted about a year ago. No anesthetics were administered, but a short time after making the impression she complained of being ill and stimulants were administered to no avail.
