Mel passed away March 7, 2003. We now have a posterity of 22 grandchildren (one granddaughter deceased) and three great grand-children. Melvin Kimball Farr was born May 25, 1927 in Orem, Utah to Erron Williams and Helen Mar Kimball Farr (both deceased) and a 2nd mom Velva Ruth Brinkerhoff (deceased). Mel had seven brothers and sisters Erron Laretus and Lucile (deceased) Margaret and Hammond Allen (both deceased) Genevieve and Gail Lee, Barbara and Frank Romney, Andrew and Patricia, Lloyd and Helen and a stepsister Georgianne (deceased) and Dean Swenson. Mel married LaDawn Fitzgerald Feb. 6, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. I can't thank Mel enough for his gentleness, and patience with me and for being the best friend and companion that anyone could ever wish for. Mel served his Heavenly Father all his life. And served his country during World War II in the Merchant Marines. Being honorably discharged from the Coast Guard later on. We want to thank Hospice for giving us such support and loving care to my Mel. And all our family and friends for the prayer's, kindness, and concern given to both of us at this time in our lives. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Glenmoor Stake Center 4200 W. Skye Dr. (9800 So.) Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Broomhead Funeral Home 12600 So. 2200 W. and Friday one hour prior at the church. Interment Redwood Memorial Estates.
