Obituary:
William Marshall Farr:   William Marshall Farr, who passed away on April 18 1931 at the home of Mr and Mrs Ivan Peavey of Morgan, was born in Westmoreland N.H. Dec 27 1837, the son of Emerson and Mary (Stores) Farr.  Although he was one of ten children, many of whom were younger, he was the only survivor since the death of a brother, Lorenzo, over two years ago.  When a small boy he journeyed to Morgan with his parents by team.    In 1862 he married Amanda Hackett and four children blessed this union.   Ora, who died when 5 years old; Dora of Glover; Bertha of Morgan; and Gertie of Holland.   He resided on several farms in Brownington and Morgan, moving from there to Holland, where his wife died in 1899.  His home was always open to children or grandchildren at all times.  He was never any happier than when doing a kindness to children.  He was a great lover of horses and in later years made many an evening pleasant to his children and grandchildren, by telling of his experiences.  Although his stories were oft repeated they ne'er grew old.  Those left to mourn his death are three daughters , thirty grand-children, and twenty-nine great-grandchildren, besides nephews, nieces and a host of friends.  The funeral which was largely attended was conducted by Rev. W. C. Johnson of Derby, who spoke feelingly of his pleasant associations with the deceased.  The profusion of flowers testified to the esteem in which he was held.  Burial was in Morgan Center cemetery.
