Mrs. Regester was a well-known artist of Southern Indiana. A Native of Morgan Co., Indiana, she was the daughter of James B. and Elizabeth Burton Farr, and came to Bloomington with her husband.

She attended a Teachers Normal school in Bloomfield, and taught school in Morgan County in the early years of her life. During the early years of their marriage, the Regesters lived on a farm in Morgan County.

At age 38, Mrs. Regester started the development of her talent as an artist. She attended Herron Art Institute in Indianapolis and took training in oil painting from several well-known artists in Brown County. Her oil paintings of landscapes and florals were notable.
