Volume III Family Genealogies:  p. 411. "53. JOHN PRESBURY, (Stephen,3 John2-1), b. 1700; res. E., yeoman, with whose death 20 Sept. 1728 the name of Presbury became extinct in the male line on the Vineyard. He m. ABIGAIL COTTLE (21) abt. 1719, who was b. 6 June 1702 and surviving him m. (2) BENJAMIN LUCE (34) 20 Mch. 1730-1, and (3) SAMUEL LAMBERT (14). They had but one child, viz:

60. MARIA, b. 1720; m. ELIAKIM NORTON (420).".

2 "Last Will and Testament of Edward Cottle of Dukes County, 1751. Will leaves everything to his “son and daughter,” Benjamin Luce and Abigail his wife. He appoints Abigail, his “beloved and only daughter” as the executor of his estate after his decease, and makes provisions for his grandchildren, Abigail’s children, to inherit after her.".
